On March 11, 2025, Apple released a new double point update of IOS 18 which is 18.3.2, that came a month after the release of IOS 18.3.1. The update 18.3.2 includes Important bug fixes, security updates, and addresses issues that may prevent playback of streaming content. The update was around 700 megabytes.
Along with this IOS 18.3.2, Apple also released
- iPadOS 18.3.2
- MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2
- TvOS 18.3.1
- VisionOS 2.3.2
If the users were having issues like playback in YouTube, Safari or any third-party applications, it should be after updating to IOS 18.3.2. The performance in the update of 18.3.2 is normal, no big changes in the Geekbench test. The battery life also does not change very much with these double point updates.
The latest update 18.3.2 is under IOS 18, which was officially released on September 18, 2024 by Apple Inc. About this update, IOS 18 brought new ways to customize the iPhone further by arranging the Home screen, Lock screen and Control Centre in all new ways. Photos delivered the biggest redesign by making it easier to relive your special moments. IOS 18 also brought new features to Safari, Journal, Notes, Phone and much more. The changes and features of IOS 18 were:
- New IOS 18 wallpapers: Apple launched officially IOS 18 theme wallpapers in the update of IOS 18 with a new Dynamic feature that changes the wallpapers in the phone automatically.
- Flexible apps and widgets placements: in the previous versions of IOS, users couldn’t move or place a specific app or icon and widget away from other icons and widgets, but in the latest IOS 18 version update, users can now easily place apps or widgets wherever they want and can also resize the widgets.
- Dark icons and wallpaper tint: users can now easily customize their home screen even further by switching over to dark icons and customize tint wallpapers, and widgets.
- Lock screen controls: users can now delete the flashlight and camera shortcut in the lock screen and can also add new shortcuts and widgets in the lock screen.
- Assign controls to Action button: it’s a new feature of IOS 18 update that allows users to assign different controls like Shazam, calculator and many more to the action button and access them simply by tapping the action button.
- Dynamic Flashlight: users with iPhones which has dynamic island get a new feature called dynamic flashlight that allows the user to change the intensity and beam of the flashlight.
The double points updates are strictly for bug fixes and security enhancements which are mentioned in the release notes. It rarely fixes things that were not mentioned in the release notes. The large bugs that users have been facing for a while are not going to be fixed with this double point update unless it was mentioned in the release note. So, if you had any issues with keyboard, notifications or lagging, those are most likely not going to be fixed with this update.
They might be fixed with IOS 18.4, which is the next update and is coming up soon. We will be seeing that anytime in April 2025.
