An early preview of a new AI “Manus” has been launched by the “Monica” site “mionica.IM”named Manas AI on 6th March 2025. It caused a massive wave of people staying up all night just to snag an invitation code. It is heard that some folks even tried to resell code on various secondhand platforms from ¥999 around $137 to ¥100,000 around $14,000 all because the demand exploded faster than the team expected. The reason for the excitement is because of Manus’s advanced capabilities that Manus demonstrates.
There are many AI’s like ChatGPT, Deepseek, etc. Other AI assistants can answer your questions, generate or give you code suggestions, but Manus AI is further steps ahead by planning and executing tasks and delivering final results. It’s like an intern who not only brainstorms ideas but also does all the grunt work from writing code, browsing websites and analyzing data.
So according to the official site, it got multiple agent structures, which means different sub agents inside the system handle distinct part of a task. One agent might do the planning, another might do the actual execution, like writing scripts, code, or building a specific website, yet another one might verify the accuracy of the results.
This multi-agent collaboration mirrors the way humans team, one person strategizes, another one does the coding, and so on. There is a video on Twitter that shows that Manus ai is running 50 screens at the same time, . The synergy of these sub agents is what allows Manas AI to accomplish super complex tasks.
We’re talking everything from screening resumes for open job positions to analyzing real estate listings based on your income and neighborhood preferences to analyzing stock data from multiple companies, building a dashboard or summarizing an entire set of financial statements. For example, if a person wants to buy a house in New York with a safe community, a solid school district, and a price range that matches their budget.
Manas ai will systematically search online for safety data, look up property prices, calculate budget with python scripts and present a polished report with a recommended list of properties. People have tested Manas by having it plan a trip to Japan in April, do thorough Tesla stock analysis, etc.
Manas doesn’t spit out bullet points either, it can write code, generate a visual dashboard, and lay everything out in a table or Excel doc. The motto behind the product is “Mens Et Manas” in Latin, which means mind and hand. Knowledge shouldn’t be stored in AI’s brain, it should be actively used to get results in the real world. Manas apparently achieved a new state of the art performance on the GAIA Benchmark.
GAIA measures how well a general AI assistant can solve real-world tasks. According to the team, Manus surpasses another system like Open AI’s Deep Research of all three levels of GAIA’s difficulty ratings. Monica is a company founded by Xiao Hong who is a serial entrepreneur and graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology back in 2015, There’s also mentioned a co-founder and chief scientist named Peak, who did a demonstration video that got hundreds of thousands of views within 20 hours.
Another partner popped up saying they had to limit invites because their servers can’t keep up. The local media and social platforms in China are calling it another “Sputnik moment” or “GPT moment” referencing how ChatGPT shook up the world. Manas is aiming for what we call Artificial General Intelligence. Obviously it’s not going to pick up your kids from school or do your laundry in the physical world, but in digital spaces it can handle multi-step processes that you’d usually pass on to an intern or assistant. It is also heard from a few references that at least 21% of enterprises by January 2024
had already adopted AI agents in some capacity. Gartner apparently predicts that number will be above 80% by 2026, which means if Manas does well it’s tapping right into a super-hot market.
Another creator name Julian Goldie SEO creates a detailed video of Manas saying that he’s amazed and terrified at the same time by seeing how Manas can control 50 screens at the same time. It can control your browser; it can do research for you, etc., outperforming Open AI’s and deep research model on many of the main benchmarks. He covered topics like how to use it and how to set up a version of this offline,
The official Manas page even shows it can look up local data for a barbecue restaurant in Texas, to help them boost sales, it can do Kaggle competitions by writing code to rank in the top 10%. All these are showcased in the official gallery of Manas, so if you want to try it, how do you get access? Right now, it’s invitation only because of the shortage of invites. According to the folks behind Manas, they are working on scaling up their servers to allow more open access, they said it’ll hopefully be free to use at some point. Critics are already asking whether Manas is truly autonomous or just combining existing tech in a slick package.
Monica is known for creating useful AI-based solutions. They went from 0 to 10 million users in a flash, so maybe they’ll pull off another win with Manas, which is practical. Regardless of doubt, Manas has shaken the AI scene, especially in China, seeing it sift through resumes, run python scripts and compile real estate data all by itself goes beyond typical chatbot ability.
There is also the question of competition. Big shots like Open AI and Google have all teased or introduced systems that can do more than just talk, but we haven’t seen many workable agents or demos as thorough as Manas. Right now, all eyes are on how well Manas scales and whether it really can deliver in this agent of the future promise. Only time will tell if it’s another deep seek moment or fleeting hype train or the next evolution in AI.
